21 Year Old Baltimore Stylist’s Life is Taken In Her Salon Allegedly Over Some Hair

I saw this story on social media and I just can’t imagine how anybody could lose their life over some weave? It was reported in the Baltimore Sun that A 21-year-old woman was fatally shot inside a beauty salon Saturday night in the McElderry Park neighborhood of Southeast Baltimore.

Baltimore Police say they responded to the 200 block of N. Milton Ave. around 6:12 p.m. for a report of a shooting. Officers found the woman suffering from gunshot wounds to the head inside the Madam D Beauty Bar.

The woman, who on Monday was identified as Destiny Harrison, was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Col. Sheree Briscoe said one or more suspects entered the salon while other people were there and shot Harrison, but would not address any of the accounts of what happened. “I know that there is a conversation happening out [on] social media. That is not the investigative conversation,” Briscoe said.

On social, and according to another report – twelve days before her death, Harrison’s business was broken into.

She filed charges against two people who lived near her salon after she caught them in the back of her business stealing merchandise, WMAR reports.

Harrison’s written testimony described how one of the suspects allegedly held her down while the other one hit and stomped on her after she demanded her property back, WMAR reports.

The suspects allegedly fled with $3,000 worth of “expensive hair extensions” that Harrison sold at her salon, WMAR reports.

“I’m scared for my life and business,” Harrison wrote, WMAR reports.

The whole thing is just so sad! Now a little girl has lost her mom over a senseless crime.
