Adele fans, brace yourselves—after her Las Vegas residency wraps up in November, the “Easy on Me” singer is planning to step away from the spotlight for quite some time.
During a recent concert in Munich, the 36-year-old artist shared the news, revealing that she will be taking an extended break after her current commitments end.
In a video posted on TikTok, Adele is seen addressing her audience with a heartfelt message.
“I have 10 shows to do, but after that I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart,” she said, marking the beginning of what will be a much-needed hiatus for the singer.
“but after that [10 shows in Vegas], i will not see you for an incredibly long time… i just need a rest. i’ve spent the last 7 years building the life for myself, I want to live it now. I want to live my new life I’ve been building” — Adele pic.twitter.com/LwviKRcVAe

According to PEOPLE While some fans expressed sadness in the comments, many were quick to acknowledge that this pattern of taking long breaks between projects is nothing new for Adele.
“This is what Adele does. Disappears, then comes out with a banger,” one fan commented, referencing the six-year gap between her albums 25 and 30.
Adele’s final 10 shows of her “Weekends with Adele” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace are scheduled from October 25 to November 23.
The residency, which began in November 2022, was initially supposed to conclude in March of this year. However, Adele had to postpone those dates in February due to needing vocal rest.
“Sadly, I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency,” she explained at the time. “I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break.”
This announcement came on the heels of her recently concluded Munich residency, which ran from August 2 to August 31 at the open-air venue Messe München.
According to the residency’s website, this was Adele’s first performance in mainland Europe since 2016.
Despite her busy schedule, Adele made it clear in a German interview with ZDF that new music is not on her immediate horizon. “I don’t have any plans for new music, at all,” she said.
“I want a big break after this, and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
In addition to her career news, Adele also stirred up excitement in August by seemingly confirming engagement rumors with sports executive Rich Paul.
During one of her concerts, she responded to a fan’s marriage proposal by saying,
“I can’t marry you because I’m already getting married.” The moment was captured by an audience member, adding fuel to the ongoing speculation about her relationship status.
Adele and Rich Paul first sparked dating rumors back in July 2021 when they were seen courtside at an NBA Finals game.
As Adele prepares to take her well-deserved break, fans will no doubt be eagerly awaiting her return—and whatever creative projects she decides to take on next.
