Alysha Burney’s brother is setting the record straight.
Following the tragic passing of the Kansa social media star during a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, her brother, Charles Burney, is urging fans and online users to stop spreading misinformation about her death.
“She [Alysa] does not do drugs,” he told FOX4. “She was a self-loving and happy individual who cherished her life and was looking forward to the upcoming year’s plan. She was in Mexico to celebrate her birthday. She was a very classy young woman.”
“There’s a spread of misinformation online, stating different things based on speculation. These sources lack credibility and should not be believed. My sister did not engage in environments that would lead to such situations.”
Charles had previously addressed speculation in a social media statement, expressing frustration over false claims surrounding Alysha’s death.
“It is extremely difficult seeing all of the false narratives trying to defame her legacy,” he wrote in a March 10 statement. “And we are ready to take legal action for those continuing to spread false information regarding her passing.”
“We know so many people care about her and we will share more information soon but just give us some time and please stop harassing the family. Her legacy will still live on FOREVER!!”

YouTube star Alysha Burney tragically passed away in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, after suffering an asthma attack in her sleep on March 2—just a day shy of her 25th birthday.
Charles, who was with her at the time, confirmed the heartbreaking news to FOX4 News, sharing that Alysha had been on vacation to celebrate her birthday.
“I come with great sadness that my little sister, Alysha Burney, has passed,” he told the outlet. “PLEASE allow our family time to grieve during this time.”
He continued, “She was not selfish with her knowledge and was an open book about her journey. She will always be dearly loved, and her legacy will live on forever.”
Alysha, a graduate of the University of Central Missouri, first joined YouTube in 2013 and quickly rose to fame after her Bad Girls Club parodies went viral.
She built an impressive online presence, amassing over 5 million followers across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
The 23-year-old content creator also owned her own production company in Kansas City called ABurneyProductions. The company had already produced a film and was developing several more projects, according to FOX4.
“Alysha was very goal-oriented, creative, and passionate about giving back,” Charles said of his sister. “She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media Production and was working toward her graduate degree.”
Her ultimate dream, he shared, was to become a writer and director and to open a production studio in her hometown to help aspiring artists in the Kansas City area.
