The autopsy report of Mandisa’s cause of death has been released, and it reveals that the revered gospel singer passed away from complications resulting from class III obesity.
According to People, the 47-year-old singer’s manner of death was natural, and she was found in her Tennessee home on April 18.
She was “last known alive” around three weeks before her death.
A representative confirmed the death to The Times on April 19.
“At this time, we do not know the cause of death or any further details.”
The singer’s autopsy report confirms her father, John Hundley’s confidence that she didn’t harm herself.
He confirmed that detectives “looked for signs that she may have harmed herself, and there were no signs to indicate that she did anything.”
During a celebration of the singer’s life in April, her dad announced his belief that Mandisa “fell down in her bedroom.”
Days after news of the singer’s death broke, the authorities confirmed that they didn’t find signs of foul play.
What Is The Class III Obesity Which Took Mandisa’s Life?

Class III Obesity is a chronic condition that causes a body mass index of 40 or higher.
According to the Cleveland Clinic:
“Class III obesity can contribute to several serious health conditions, such as Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.”
Mandisa was nominated for five Grammy awards, winning her first for her 2014 album, “Overcomer.”
Though she had a stellar career, her most popular songs came from her time at American Idol in 2006.
The singing competition honored Mandisa in an Instagram post and with a musical tribute by former American Idol contestants Danny Gokey, Colton Dixon, and Melinda Doolittle.
The singers did a cover of Mary Mary’s “Shackles (Praise You),” one of Mandisa’s most famous performances on the show.
After their performance, Dixon said:
“I think she came in praising, I think she left praising. We’re gonna miss her, but our loss is heaven’s gain.”
