According to VIBE Ana Navarro is facing criticism after sharing images of her fixing former President Barack Obama‘s tie.
People think it is inappropriate because he is a married man.
In the upload to X on Wednesday (Aug. 21) on the third night of the Democratic National Convention, the political commentator gave her followers a view behind-the-scenes.
In the first photo, the 52-year-old leans in to help make the wardrobe adjustment as she carries her small, brown dog. In the second photo, she appears to lean in and kiss the career politician on the cheek.
“Somebody had to fix his tie. So Chacha and I pitched-in,” wrote The View co-host.
Although Navarro limited replies to the post, viewers were able to add their two cents by quoting the original upload.
On Instagram she added more context:
She said:
Context: This was the moment he walked out of his dressing room to go on stage, last night. There were dozens of ppl lining the halls hoping to catch a glimpse. He was walking focused and intently, not stopping. But when he saw me, he stopped to say hello. I first met him in 2007, when he came to Miami on a book tour. Have been with him many times since. I voted against him & Biden twice – in 2008 and 2012. But it was never personal. I never doubted his decency, capacity and moral compass. He is a good man. And though I disagreed with some of his policies, there is no doubt, he brought elegance and grace to the Oval Office. I tell you that story as a reminder of a time -before Trump- when we could disagree politically without hating each other.
Journalist April Reign was one of the first to take issue with the snap and Navarro’s caption, responding, “Girl, delete this. You are not that somebody, or whatever Aaliyah said. You know this is out of bounds, which is why you locked the responses.”

“Because what you NOT gon do is imply YOU needed to fix his tie, when Michelle was right around the corner in the green room,” she continued in a follow-up post. “You and your purse dog need to remember your place, and it’s not within tie distance of our POTUS. Like literally how dare you.”

One X/Twitter user agreed, writing, “I get it. If my hubby needs any kind of adjustment, I’ll do it. Just like he wouldn’t want a man to adjust my clothing. My hubby would’ve grabbed her hand to stop her and said my wife will fix it lol glad he’s not in politics.”
Another added,
“A lot of y’all are unfamiliar with BOUNDARIES! Unless you are my husband’s personal assistant, close friend or his tailor, you DON’T FIX HIS TIE!! Ana Navarro knew good and well she was being inappropriate with Obama which is why she locked off her replies. Weirdo.”
Others, however, think the reaction is unwarranted, believing Michelle Obama wouldn’t be “insecure” enough to care about Barack getting his tie adjusted by another woman.
“If there is one thing Mrs Obama is not, it’s insecure, so find something better to do!,” wrote one supporter of the talking head via TJB, with another adding, “Grow up people and get a life. He’s not your man; and I have 0 doubt, his wife is way too secure to be bothered.”
Although strongly affiliated with the Republican Party, Navarro has fully supported the presidential campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris as opposed to former president Donald Trump.
According to Variety, she was booked to host at the DNC when President Joe Biden still sought a second term.
