Anna Faris has revealed she’d love to return to the Scary Movie franchise–but only if Regina Hall also returns.
According to PEOPLE, Faris loved working with Hall.
“I would love to work with Regina again. I just love her so much. We would make each other giggle all day long. Regina Hall would be my answer [regarding a reprise]. And money. But mostly all Regina!”
Faris credits the Scary Movie franchise for helping her hone her comedic skills.
“I love that franchise. It was like my bootcamp, my beginnings… If there is a high school comparison for my growth experience, those four movies played an important role in my life in terms of teaching me how to use props, teaching me how to fall, how to get hit in the head — how to hold Chiclets in my mouth and then spit them out with blood at a convenient time for the camera.”
Both Anna Faris And Regina Hall Would Love To Return
In 2022, Regina Hall expressed interest in returning to the horror-comedy franchise.
Hall revealed to Entertainment Tonight:
“We should’ve had [a reunion], but we can’t have a 20 year reunion cause they’re too off for that. It’s gotta be like 23-year [reunion.] Like, who would have a 23 year [reunion]? [But] I would love to see where they are now. I don’t think it’s any place amazing, but I think it’d be fun to see.”
Back then, Faris mirrored Hall’s words:
“I bet with the right paycheck, Regina would be in, too.”
Hall also recalled advice that franchise creator Keenan Ivory Wayans gave her.
“Keenan used to always say ‘there’s no vanity in comedy,’ so I always realized whatever it is, just be honest. With him, I had a lot more trust in myself […] He really allowed and encouraged a lot of improv. It was a real self-discovery and opportunity to trust my instincts.”
Hall also revealed that she accepted the Brenda role despite being advised not to.
“That would’ve been bad if I’d said no.”
