Chile, what’s the tea? Babyface who was scheduled to perform with Anita Baker tonight at the Prudential Center in New Jersey has issued an apology for not appearing on stage.
On Instagram, he writes
I am truly sorry to my fans who have been waiting for us to hit the stage this evening at the Prudential Center. I was asked not to perform in order to give Ms. Baker her space and time to perform her show in its entirety. My band and I are extremely saddened we didn’t get to perform for yall tonight.
For context, last year the RNB legend expressed his excitement about joining Anita Baker for her ‘Songstress Tour”.
According to Vibe Anita Baker planned a nationwide tour in 2023 and brought Babyface along for the ride.
“I am excited to share that I am joining the iconic and legendary @IAMANITABAKER on tour next year! I am looking forward to sharing her stage and seeing all of you for some fun evenings filled with music & love,” tweeted Babyface, 64.
On May 10th Babyface was scheduled to open for Anita in NJ.
we aren’t sure what happened but according to some in attendance, Anita Baker was 2 hours late for her set and now Babyface is apologizing for not performing at all.
