In 2013, Beyonce formed the BeyGOOD initiative to support programs and people worldwide.
A decade later, BeyGOOD has helped tackle various issues, including:
- Food, housing, and water scarcity
- Disaster relief
- Mental health
- Career development
- Education
The 2020 global health crisis made countless small businesses uncertain about how to survive, and economic support became necessary in different communities.
The same year, Beyonce founded Black Parade Route to support Black-owned businesses under threat.
Thanks to the singer’s efforts, over 900 small businesses received grants or were highlighted on social media.
Beyonce Is A Force For Good
According to Black Enterprise, history’s most-awarded Grammy winner was proud of her work.
“I am hugely proud of the work we have done over a decade at BeyGOOD, here in the US and around the world. From scholarships to the water crisis in Burundi, to helping families during Hurricane Harvey in my hometown, Houston, it has been beyond fulfilling to be of service. Now as a foundation, we will continue the work of engaging partners through innovative programs to impact even more people.”
The Black Parade Route continues working in tandem with the singer’s Renaissance World Tour.
The Foundation hosts luncheons the day before each tour stop, giving entrepreneurs an inspirational afternoon with the chance of receiving a grant.
By the time the tour ends, the Foundation will have supported small Black-owned businesses with $1 million.

The BeyGOOD initiative also supports students through its new RENAISSANCE Scholarship Fund.
The initiative will grant the Fund to universities and colleges in ten cities as the tour continues.
The RENAISSANCE Scholarship Fund also totals $1 million.
“We believe that everyone has the right to economic equity. And we are keenly aware of the barriers to access, opportunity, and resources that disproportionately impact BIPOC communities. Our work is rooted in the belief that education, pathways for employment and support of entrepreneurship are vehicles that help drive sustainable outcomes. As we celebrate a decade of good, it continues to be my great honor to lead the philanthropic vision of Mrs. Carter and to be hands and feet of hope and help for those in need globally.” Ivy McGregor, BeyGOOD Foundation’s Executive Director.
As Beyonce’s tour continues, she’s doing her part to help individuals and businesses, touching countless lives in the process.
