The company that hosted the event where Disney Influencer Dominique Brown reportedly died after experiencing an allergic reaction has issued a new statement addressing the incident.
BoxLunch, the organizer of the Los Angeles holiday event where the co-creator of the @BlackGirlDisney account tragically passed away on December 5, said they are “devastated” by the death of their “beloved member” in a statement posted on Instagram on Friday (December 13).
“Dominique Brown created a community of love, joy, and representation,” the company wrote. “We are devastated by her sudden and tragic passing. She was a beloved member of the BoxLunch Collective and brought joy to all whose lives she touched.”
The pop culture merchandise retailer reiterated that, as previously shared with the media, BoxLunch Collective members, and others they’ve been in contact with, they are committed to doing “everything possible to support Dominique’s family, her loved ones, the Collective, and our team members during this painful time.”
BoxLunch also shared that grief counseling services are being provided to their team and others “directly affected by this tragedy.”
The company also confirmed that they are “in the process of conducting an investigation into the tragic circumstances of her passing, which occurred at a BoxLunch event hosted at a venue in Los Angeles.”
“We have not yet received the information we requested from the operators of the event venue to get an accurate and detailed account of the night. As we learn more, we plan to share this information with Dominique’s family,” the company added.
“While we know that there are no words or actions that will fully heal anyone’s pain, we will do all we can to honor Dominique,” the statement concluded.

As EmilyCottontop previously reported, Brown, who was known as a Disney theme park enthusiast and collector, died after reportedly experiencing an allergic reaction at a holiday food event hosted by BoxLunch at Vibiana earlier this month. She was 34.
A representative for the company initially told People in a statement that Brown “suffered a medical emergency” at the event.
“Our hearts go out to her family and friends, and we will do everything we can to support them and the members of the BoxLunch Collective and our team during this painful time,” they added.
Brown ate food after being told by an event staff that it did not contain an ingredient, she was allergic to. Someone claiming to know here on X (formerly Twitter) wrote that the Disney influencer “instantly felt bad” after consuming it.
“She was my mom’s best friend of 10 years. She asked if there was peanuts in the food and everyone told her no. When she instantly felt bad, she asked someone to take her to the hospital,” X user @hideyagrannies wrote.
According to People, Brown’s last social media post, shared via her screenname @helloodomo on December 4, was a clip of her visiting a Disney Store.
May she rest in peace.
