Y’all so last night I saw a story on ABC13 about a child who had her hair literally pulled out of the back of her head by bullies at her school in Philly. The story is all too familiar but this one had a pretty happy ending that I just had to share.
First the back story
According to ABC13: A mother in South Philadelphia says her 8-year-old daughter is a victim of school bullies who cut her child’s hair. Yamina Zahir said that her daughter, Amina, has been repeatedly bullied at Commodore John Barry Elementary for more than a year.
She said it reached a new level Wednesday when Amina came home from school with a large patch of hair missing from the back of her head. Amina said she told her teacher another female student cut her hair with scissors, but claims the teacher did not respond. Yamina said she also spoke with her daughter’s teacher and school counselor and even called the police to the school. But still, no action has been taken.
“Nothing is happening. Nothing is being addressed. Someone is really going to get hurt out of this situation. She could’ve stabbed my daughter. Anything could’ve happened. She cut my daughter’s hair off. Who would do something like that?” Yamina said.
Yamina said she has filed a report with the police. The school has not responded to Action News’ request for comment.

Now The Good News
Despite how sad it is that mom has had no response from the school there are still good people in the world. Popular celebrity stylist Kee aka SoSheargenious who is based in Philly and an absolute fave of mine put out a message on Instagram about wanting to find the family.
She eventually found princess Amina, shaped her hair and put a smile on her face today! Check out the pictures:
