Cam Newton’s ex-girlfriend, Kia Proctor, recently opened up about her relationship with Cam, and what co-parenting is like with him.
In a video shared on her YouTube channel, ‘Shade Of Kia,’ on Sunday (Sept. 1), Kia revealed that Cam fathered an “outside baby” with LaReina Shaw while they were still together.
Kia and Cam began dating in 2013 and were together for nearly seven years before their split in 2020.
During their relationship, they welcomed four biological children, and Cam also embraced Kia’s eldest daughter from a previous relationship as his own.
However, as Kia disclosed, Cam welcomed another child with LaReina in 2020, adding to his growing family.
He also claims LaReina’s eldest son as his own.
Cam Newton is now the father and stepfather of eight children.
Earlier this year, he welcomed his youngest child with Jasmin Brown, with whom he has reportedly been in a relationship since 2021.
Speaking candidly on her platform, Kia shared that she and Cam were never married, but she had believed their relationship was headed in that direction.
The revelation of Cam’s betrayal, however, was a turning point for her.
“The relationship, I thought it was headed towards marriage and then my partner at the time had an outside baby. He kinda wanted to force it on me, and I wasn’t really ready to…I mean, I don’t really know how to describe this or talk about this. He had a baby outside of our relationship that I was not okay with,” she explained.
Faced with this reality, Kia made the difficult decision to move on, despite believing that they “had something special.” When the news of the baby came to light, she felt she “had no other choice than to leave.”
“I had to choose me and my kids over what he was about to put me through,” Kia shared, emphasizing her priority to protect herself and her children.
Despite the pain, Kia acknowledged the positive aspect of their current situation—co-parenting.
She credited Cam for their “great co-parenting schedule,” noting that it’s been a “work in progress” but is gradually improving.
According to Kia, they alternate custody every Sunday, ensuring both parents remain actively involved in their children’s lives.

As for LaReina Shaw, she has yet to respond publicly to Kia’s comments.
Meanwhile, Cam and his current partner, Jasmin Brown, have been spotted enjoying time together, with videos surfacing of the couple singing to each other at a bar.
Jasmin also took to her Instagram Stories to express her love for serving others.
