Tired of Hollywood re-runs
Cam’ron sure is and he’s not mincing his words about it.
On the recent episode of It Is What It Is, Killa Cam and Mase got into it about a rumor that Justin Jefferson and Anthony Edwards recreated the iconic Randy Moss and Kevin Garnett ‘90s photo. Cam’ron wasn’t impressed, calling it lazy – just like the endless remakes Hollywood’s been churning out.
“I think that n***as is lacking in being creative and not only lacking being creative, you have to think about who’s eating off this stuff,” Cam’ron said during the show.
Cam thinks every generation deserves its own fresh vibe and he’s not been seeing it in the stuff we’ve been getting. Cam’ron stated he’s watched the latest iterations of Ghostbusters, Superman, and The Smurfs, and more, but none are original.
“If the owner of, let’s just use Ghostbusters, for example, says ‘We don’t want Bill Murray, let’s get some young Ghostbusters,’ the original n***a most likely is going to get paid again because if he didn’t sell the name of the movie or still has the rights to the movie n***a said I’ma eat again,” he continued.
According to The ROC rapper this is just another way for original creators to keep cashing in. He also has an issue with legends like Denzel Washington and Sylvester Stallone playing the same role they have no business playing in their old age.
“”I’m not watching Rocky be Rambo at 78 years old, man. I’m not watching that; I refuse to watch Rocky be Rambo. Did I see the new Equalizer? I love Denzel Washington as an actor, but I’m not watching him do karate at 71 years old and all that,” he added.
“I’m not doing it. I love him as a great actor but when n***as start doing karate and they 70, I can’t believe the movie. I can’t fuck with Denzel being The Equalizer at 70. Rocky 19? Nah, I’m not watching it, b.”
Well, Cam’ron will be pleased to learn that Denzel Washington has already announced he’s done playing Robert McCall in The Equalizer series after last year’s third sequel.
Meanwhile, Stallone has hinted earlier this year that he might pass the Rambo torch to Ryan Gosling if he decides to retire from the legendary role.
