An 18-year-old in Dayton is in serious trouble after reportedly engaging the cops in a high-speed chase.
The teen, identified as Jamir Smith, tried to outrun the police and refused to let his passengers out of his vehicle.
The drama unfolded on July 25, around 5:35 p.m., when the police tried to pull over a 2017 Buick Encore driven by Smith.
But Jamir had other plans.
According to Yahoo! News, he hit the gas instead of the brake when he spotted the flashing lights and blaring sirens.
The Pursuit Continued Through Several Dayton Neighborhoods

Jamir’s reckless driving in Dayton came with consequences.
He apparently caused an accident, ran over stop sticks, and drove at alarming speeds.
He also ignored a red light, causing a collision with another vehicle.
The chase concluded when an officer forced Jamir’s vehicle into a spin, ending his reckless escapade.
However, Jamir ditched his car and allegedly tossed a loaded gun as he fled on foot.
Once the car’s occupants were secured, they revealed they had tried to persuade Jamir to let them out during the chase.
One of them even considered jumping out of the moving vehicle to escape.
Now, Jamir is facing a litany of charges, from refusing to comply with a police officer to receiving stolen property, abduction, and obstructing official business.
As of now, he’s being held at the Montgomery County Jail.
