Chingy was all set to perform at a Republican event with Donald Trump, but after a ton of criticism, it seems as if the rapper is backing out.
“YOU KNO WHAT JUS CAUSE I DONT WANT TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS MESS. I HAVE DECLINED PERFORMING AND NO IM MOT A TRUMP SUPPORTER NOR SUPPORTER OF ANYONE ELSE BUT CHINGY. THURR YOU HAVE IT,” wrote the rapper in the comments section of a Baller Alert Instagram post.
Chingy found himself at the center of online chatter after it was announced he would be performing at Red White & Rock, an event in Nashville, Tennessee, aimed at supporting LGBT conservatives on September 29.
Social media erupted with jokes, poking fun at everything from his status as the most well-known artist on the lineup to questioning why he agreed to take part in the event at all.
