Chlöe wants you all to know that her raunchy lyrics really do represent what she is thinking alluding to not being as innocent as people think she is.
In a new live video the Trouble in Paradise hit maker took to social media to address fans asking her about the raunchy nature of her songwriting on the album.
According to Vibe she shared that she’s fully aware that she’s perceived as a “Velma,” referencing the modest and nerdy Scooby Doo character.
She, however, feels more like animated sex kitten Jessica Rabbit, with the music being a reflection of that more risqué side of herself.
“Everybody’s like, ‘oh my God, Chlöe, these lyrics. Is somebody pushing this agenda?’ No, it’s just me,” confirmed the Yitty spokesmodel. “I feel like, have you seen Scooby Doo? Who’s the sweet nerd? Is it Velma? That’s who I feel like…you guys see me as Velma on the outside, and inside, I am just Jessica Rabbit. So, everyone’s just like, ‘oh my God. The lyrics are so raunchy…well, you know, that is my inner thoughts…lady in the streets but a freak in the sheets and only few have seen that side. But, many have heard it on my songs and music and everyone is confused and shocked!
“It’s not an act, baby,” she concludes.
Bailey previously addressed fans refusing to let her embrace her sensuality during her 777 Radio chat with Latto, where she surmised, “It’s because they’re not used to seeing me in that light.
They’ve grown up with my sister and I since we had our little short baby locks on YouTube and everything. But it’s like, ‘this has been me.’
When I perform, that’s when I feel the most confident and the most sexy. It’s nothing contrived or forced about it. That’s just passion coming out.”
