After more than 20 years together, you’d think Jim Jones and Chrissy Lampkin would have walked down the aisle by now — and clearly, Ciara agrees!
During the BET Awards weekend, CiCi ran into the Harlem rapper in the press room and couldn’t help but speak on what we’ve all been thinking.
While Jim was mid-interview with Power 105.1’s DJ Self, Ciara gracefully popped into the frame — looking flawless as always — and delivered a playful but heartfelt nudge: it’s time to wife Chrissy up.
“Why not? Why not? Y’all have lived life in every capacity anyone could live it in. You’re living like you already done it, so just seal it properly,” Ciara told the “Ballin’” rapper, who smiled throughout the exchange. “She deserves it, you deserve it. Why not? I look at y’all, and I’m like, they’re so fly. Chrissy is so beautiful and so dope, and she holds you down like down down down. This is the spirit talking through me right now.”
“It’s time,” she concluded, prompting echos of agreement on social media.
Lampkin first famously proposed to Jones in 2011 while on Love & Hip Hop, with him following up with his own proposal the following season. After Love & Hip Hop, the couple starred on VH1 spin-off Chrissy And Mr. Jones, and later, Chrissy And Mr. Jones: Vow or Never, with the couple never officially making it down the aisle.
In 2022, Lampkin came to the conclusion that she no longer wanted to marry Jones. She revealed the decision on season 3 of VH1 Family Reunion: Love & Hip Hop Edition, citing his tendency to be “mean, cold [and] distant” towards her at times.
Ciara, however, did have luck playing cupid for singer Normani and NFL star DeKaylin “DK” Metcalf — who are currently engaged — so perhaps her relationship influence will spill over onto Jim and Chrissy, as well.
