Cory Hardrict is embracing his moment and stepping into his purpose.
The Divorce In Black Actor known for his roles in films like “American Sniper” and “Brotherly Love,” recently sat down for an interview with BET where he shared how he is feeling about the attention he has been getting.
“I’m stepping into my purpose,” he said in a clip of his interview with the outlet. “I’ve been walking in it, but I’m really stepping into it right now, and it feels good.”
“I’m just back to dreaming for a living,” Hardrict said. “Not that I ever stopped, but I’m really back to dreaming, and I feel like I can do anything. As long as you put that ‘I Am’ in front of it, if I am this, I am that, you can do it, and then you put that in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
How Cory Connected With Tyler
The opportunity to appear in Perry’s movie emerged from a fortuitous connection.
According to the “All American: Homecoming” star, Meagan Good recommended his name to Perry.
The filmmaker, who had already chosen Good for the lead role, inquired about which actor she wanted to collaborate with.
She suggested his name.
Perry then contacted Hardrict, and the rest fell into place.
“Tyler Perry just called me, boom, I can’t believe it,” ….. “I read the script, and it was amazing. It was intense, but it was nuanced, with a lot of layers in the characters. It showed vulnerability, masculinity, everything I want to be as an actor. Leading man, yeah, like Denzel vibes, that’s what I’m on right now.”
Of course folks on Instagram could not help but mention Corey’s highly publicized divorce from Tia Mowry, claiming he was in his ex wife’s shadow for a long time.
