As Porsha Williams navigates the tumultuous waters of her divorce from Simon Guobadia, she has a steady hand to guide her – her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star Cynthia Bailey.
The twice-divorced Bailey understands the emotional roller-coaster that comes with divorce and is now imparting some hard-won wisdom to help Williams find her footing.
“I’ve been divorced twice, so I know a little bit about it,” the reality TV star shared with Page Six, acknowledging the challenges Porsha faces.
“I’ve just mostly been giving her positive energy. Just to focus on herself.”
Bailey’s and Porsha’s bond runs deeper than just a Bravo sisterhood. As Cynthia puts it, “We are good these days. I’m a lover of love; she’s a lover of love. She moves fast; I move fast. We just jump right in.”
“I don’t really know any other way to love, honesty,” she added.
But the model-turned-mogul also knows when to walk away. “If it’s not working, I think everyone deserves another chance to find their person.”
Bailey’s own journey has seen its share of ups and downs.
She finalized her divorce from sportscaster Mike Hill in December 2022, after a high-profile wedding in October 2020 that was featured on “Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 13.
Before Hill, Bailey was married to businessman Peter Thomas, and their nuptials also aired on the show in July 2010. The two settled their divorce in 2017.
Despite these experiences, the TV personality remains optimistic about love.
“I’m single and dating. I’m still looking for my person,” she said. “I’d probably get married again. I can’t say never, but it’s not a dealbreaker.”
For Porsha, 42, that quest for her forever partner has been tumultuous lately – with her filing for divorce from Nigerian entrepreneur Simon Guobadia in February.
The couple’s whirlwind romance has faced intense public scrutiny, and recent legal battles have only added to the stress. Porsha cited mental and emotional strain due to Guobadia’s alleged immigration, fraud, and other alarming allegations.
Complicating matters, Guobadia has fired a cease-and-desist to Bravo, demanding they stop filing at the house he previously shared with Porsha. Despite the drama, sources insist nothing has been shot there for the upcoming RHOA season.
Porsha, unfazed by her estranged husband’s “superfluous media antics,” continues to focus on her life and career.
Both Bailey and Porsha are set to return to “RHOA” for Season 16, with Bailey stepping into an official “friend of” role and Porsha reclaiming her full-time spot.
