According to People Married at First Sight is headed to San Diego for season 15 and Hollywood producer, New York Times bestselling author, and relationship advisor Devon Franklin is joining the cast.
The hit matchmaking series is returning to Lifetime on July 6, with a special three-hour season premiere — Like with previous seasons of MAFS, after each couple ties the knot, they’ll head out on a honeymoon, move in together and finally make a decision between happily ever after and divorce.
According to Essense Devon joins fellow freshman expert Dr. Pia Holec, a celebrated psychotherapist with a specialty in sex and couples’ therapy.
They will help to provide guidance to the couples.
Franklin has written four books, two of which were centered on love and relationships.
That includes 2019’s The Truth About Men: What Men and Women Need to Know and 2016’s The Wait. The latter was co-written with ex-wife, actress Meagan Good.
The couple were married for over nine years before Franklin filed for divorce in December 2021.
“After much prayer and consideration we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected,” they said in a joint statement at the time. “We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal.
There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love.
We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife.
We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other.”
Devon opened up on FB about why he decided to join the cast, explaining that at first he felt a ton of shame due to the divorce.

Moment of Truth: Last year, Married At First Sight (Married At First Sight) invited me to come on the show. I agreed to do it … and then the divorce hit. They came to me and said that didn’t matter to them because they still felt like I could help their couples. I was going to tell them “No” because I felt shame and that voice in my head said “you’re a failure, how can you help anybody save their marriage when yours didn’t work out” That voice in my head also had me thinking about what would “people” say? Would “people” approve or disapprove? And then I had to ask myself: is this how I’m going to live the rest of my life? In fear about what “people” say? And who are “people” anyway? So I went back to the MAFS team and told them YES, I’ll still come. I REFUSE TO LIVE IN FEAR OR SHAME!
And guess what? When I went to do the show, something powerful happened. Everything I’ve been through, I was able to draw upon to help a couple successfully sort through their issues (you’ll have to watch to find out which couple
A lot of times that voice in our heads is our worst enemy. It tries to talk us out of what God is trying to talk us into.
I was trying to get through this life perfect and without failure, now I’m just living to get through it truthfully and if what I’ve learned about love and relationships can help someone, then I’m here for it.
