Sean “Diddy” Combs is now reacting to the new law suit brought against him by former Danity Kane member Dawn Richard.
Former Danity Kane member Dawn Richard is suing the 54-year-old rapper and producer, with claims of brutality, sexual abuse and manipulation.
Through his lawyer, Diddy responds to the new lawsuit, calling the claims false and an attempt to rewrite history.
“Mr. Combs is shocked and disappointed by this lawsuit. In an attempt to rewrite history, Dawn Richard has now manufactured a series of false claims all in the hopes of trying to get a pay day — conveniently timed to coincide with her album release and press tour,” Diddy‘s attorney Erica Wolff shared in a statement.
“If Ms. Richard had such a negative experience with Making the Band and Danity Kane, she would not have chosen to continue working directly with Mr. Combs for Dirty Money, nor would she have returned for the Making the Band reboot in 2020 or agreed to be featured on The Love Album last year,” she continued. “It’s unfortunate that Ms. Richard has cast their 20-year friendship aside to try and get money from him, but Mr. Combs is confidently standing on truth and looks forward to proving that in court.”
According to Dawn‘s lawsuit obtained by TMZ she alleges that she became entangled in Diddy’s control while participating in his 2004 MTV show “Making The Band.”
The suit claims that Diddy manipulated her with promises of advancing her singing career in exchange for complying with his alleged demands.
The former Danity Kane member said during on-set auditions, Diddy called female contestants “fat,” “ugly,” “bitches” and “hoes.”
Richard also said Diddy once barged into her dressing room while she was naked at his recording studio.
She says Diddy inappropriately touched her breasts and butt.
Diddy, she says, also locked her in a car with heavily tinted windows for two hours as she screamed for help, even calling her dad for help.
Richard claims her dad traveled from Baltimore to New York to free his daughter and confront Diddy, threatening to report him to the police. But, she says, Diddy told her dad:
“Think about your daughter” and “think about your daughter’s career.”
