Dora Moono Nyambe, a humanitarian, educator, and foster mom to over 500 children, has died. She was 32.
According to the Lusaka Times, Dora passed away in the early hours of the morning, with some speculating that her death may have been caused by witchcraft.
However, a recent post on her Facebook page showed that she was in good spirits on Christmas Day but later fell ill and drove herself to the hospital, where she tragically passed away.
@doramoononyambeWe have been able to stop so many ch!ld marriages and have created this safe heaven for them. So much more needs to be done for so many. If you would like to help there is a link in my bio.
According to The Mirror, Dora became an online sensation in 2022 after sharing videos of her life as a mom of 16 on TikTok.
An educator by trade, Dora was committed to improving the lives of others, so when she went to Mapapa, a village in Zambia in Southern Africa, she was shocked by the number of kids she found with zero access to education.
She began holding make-shift classes, teaching kids under the shade of a tree, and using her TikTok platform to raise cash for a local school. It wasn’t long before donations came flooding in.
Dora raised over $450,000 (£350,000) and opened Footprints for Hope, a school for underprivileged kids. There, Dora taught over 200 students and provided them with food and, if they needed it, a safe place to sleep at night.

Recently, the mom of 16 collaborated with YouTuber Mr. Beast to improve accommodations in her community and partnered with Fulbright Scholar and American researcher Joseph Schmitt, who documented her inspiring story in the book Under a Zambian Tree.
Her sudden passing is a devastating loss, but her legacy will endure through the countless lives she transformed and the global community she united.
Rest in peace, Dora Moono Nyambe.
