The brilliant Dr. Bobbi has landed a deal on ABC’s “Shark Tank”!
If you don’t know her, the orthodontist’s creation makes her the first Black woman orthodontist to design a toothbrush!
Dr. Bobbi Wants You To Have Better Teeth
The orthodontist entered Shark Tank looking for $150,000 for 10% of her company.
However, she walked out with a sweet deal from investor Barbara Corcoran, who coughed up $150,000 for 20% of the company and $2 from every unit sold.
And the best part?
Her toothbrush sold out within 24 hours of appearing on the show.
The Big Mouth Toothbrush is a game-changer with its extra-large head and super-sized bristles that make regular toothbrushes look like wimpy little things.
Plus, Dr. Bobbi is all about spreading the word on oral health care and volunteering at schools and fairs to educate her community.
The orthodontist revealed her passion to AfroTech:
“I feel as though I am a pillar in my local community when it comes to oral health care. We volunteer at different schools and fairs and spread the word about how important oral health care is to overall health.”
As the daughter of a dentist and the owner of her dental practice, Dr. Bobbi knows a thing or two about teeth.
But the orthodontist admits that pitching her product to the Sharks was nerve-wracking.
But hey, she’s a boss and knew that nobody could present her brand with the same passion as her.
The doctor hopes that her appearance on “Shark Tank” will inspire the next generation of Black entrepreneurs.
She wants to change the narrative and show that anything is possible, and we’re all for it.
