Eddie Murphy is about to add a splash of pink to his career.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the iconic actor is in talks to star in “Pink Panther,” a comedy produced by MGM and based on the beloved classic property.
In this exciting project, Murphy would step into the shoes of the infamous Inspector Clouseau.
Directing the film is Jeff Fowler, known for his work on “Sonic the Hedgehog,” while Chris Bremner handles the script.
The talented duo of Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich from Rideback, who previously worked on “Aladdin,” are producing alongside Larry Mirisch and Julie Andrews.

For those unfamiliar, the “Pink Panther” films follow the comical adventures of the hapless Inspector Clouseau, originally portrayed by Peter Sellers.
The series revolves around a valuable jewel called the Pink Panther, and it introduced a beloved animated panther character that starred in cartoons throughout the years.
The new Pink Panther project will apparently blend live-action and CGI effects to create a captivating hybrid experience.
The film will adopt a buddy cop movie tone, as Inspector Clouseau teams up with the Pink Panther for the very first time on the big screen.
Although still in the early stages of development, insiders have classified the project as one with great potential.
The executive producer for “Pink Panther” is Ryan Halprin from Rideback, further adding his expertise to the production.
