There have been many delays to Zendaya’s hit series, Euphoria.
However, there’s finally some light at the end of the tunnel.
According to Variety, the award-winning HBO series will start shooting its third season in January 2025, with the entire main cast returning.
Francesca Orsi, the head of HBO drama series and films and executive vice president of HBO programming, said:
“I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on ‘Euphoria’ in January. We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of ‘Euphoria’ to life for the fans.”
If everything goes as planned, the third season will come nearly three years after Season 2.
HBO announced a delay to the series in March 2024.
What Caused Euphoria To Be Delayed?
Many factors contributed to the show’s delay.
For starters, the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes slowed down the entire industry.
The show’s cast also became extremely popular and got work in several other projects.
Creator Sam Levinson also didn’t want someone else writing the show, so it had to fit his busy schedule.
The show’s main cast includes:
- Zendaya
- Sydney Sweeney
- Jacob Elordi
- Hunter Schafer
- Storm Reid
- Alexa Demie
- Eric Dane
Unfortunately, Angus Cloud died at age 25 in July 2023.
Zendaya is also an executive producer on the show, while Levinson is the director and executive producer.
Other executive producers include:
- Ravi Nandan
- Drake
- Adel “Future” Nur
- Will Greenfield
- Ashley Levinson
- Ron Leshem
- Daphna Levin
- Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein
Kevin Turen was also an executive producer.
However, he passed away in November 2023.
The show has received 25 Emmy nominations, winning nine–including two for Zendaya for Best Actress in a Drama.
