The Royal Wedding happened today and it was amazing to see pictures of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they start their new journey. There is a lot of talk about just how much black representation was at the wedding and how great it was to witness now in 2018. There was a traditional black choir, they sang “This little light of mine”, they had a black preacher, a black cellist, and the list goes on and on.

In this post though, for fun, I thought it would be interesting to take a brief look at some of the hairstyles that were captured so far starting with the bride Meghan Markle.

The Royal Wedding

Meghan chose a soft elegant style perfect for her traditional Tiara straight from the Queen’s jewelry vault. So far I have not seen a close up of the back of her hair but I would guess that it’s elegantly pinned to keep the Tiara and veil secure.

Meghan followed in Kate Middleton’s footsteps wearing a tiara straight from the Queen’s jewelry vault, the Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau.

Queen Mary, wife of King George V, bought this small diamond bandeau from luxury London jeweler Garrard in 1925. After her death, the tiara was inherited by her daughter-in-law, Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent. Queen Elizabeth’s sister, Princess Margaret, has also worn the tiara.

Meghan’s Mom looked stunning with her beret and cropped locs!

Serena Williams

Serena Williams looked pretty in pink with long braids and a hat to match

The choir

The choir showed out honey, they looked and sounded beautiful! I loved the director’s style and you can see glimpses of some of the styles as the ladies sang.

Oprah opted for pink as well, she chose a wide brim hat! Similarly, Sabrina went with straight hair and a black wide brim hat.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
