Gabrielle Union isn’t here for the plastic surgery rumors.
While promoting her new SimStyled experience, a collaboration with her longtime hairstylist Larry Sims and JC Penney, the 52-year-old actress hit back at the critics who accused her of having a facelift.
“As much as what happens or doesn’t happen with my face is speculated, if you can’t be missing for six months to get a facelift – which I’ve been missing for six months, get it right,” she told People Magazine.
Union then went on to reveal her best-kept secret to always looking snatched—and it’s not what you’d expect.
“A high pony for a lady of a certain age is like a facelift,” she revealed. “It snatches you here,” she said, motioning to the crown of her head. “And a low pony does the same for here,” referencing the back of her neck.
“A high snatched pony is all you need, and it don’t cost you a thing,” The Being Mary Jane added with a laugh.
Union also talked about the updo being one of the Y2K hairstyles she’s glad has always been in style.
But when asked what trends should be left in the past, the Flawless Curls By Gabrielle Union CEO said holding on to your damaged hair is a big no-no.
“Something that shouldn’t come back: Using damaged hair as the thing,” she stated. “You know what I mean? When your color is off, and you’re like, ‘No, it was on purpose.’ No, it wasn’t. It wasn’t. Let’s bring healthy hair back and keep it here.”

In October, Gabrielle Union boldly and unapologetically celebrated her 52nd birthday, sharing a very sexy, racy photo of herself in her birthday suit on Instagram.
“This is 52,” she captioned the photo. “This is grown woman s—.”
“This is being accountable for mess ups. Being gracious when others mess up. Being open to being wrong and being proud and confident when you are right,” she continued.
“This is loving passionately and unapologetically. This is clear and firm boundaries. This is sexy. This is audacious. This is fun and full of wild adventures. This is calling a thing a thing and not falling for the Okey Doke and demanding better.”
Union concluded: “This is being alone without being lonely. This is enjoying nature. This is fierce and compassionate motherhood. This is fighting for my people and yours. This is me at 52. Loving ALL of me.”
