Actress Gabrielle Union’s daughter, Kaavia James Union Wade, has been warming hearts all over social media.
The youngest daughter of Union and NBA legend Dwyane Wade recently got to interview her mom for People’s World’s Most Beautiful issue, and let’s just say, she did not disappoint.
Kaavia brought sass, her classic “Shady Baby” attitude, and a question that had everyone, including her mom, doing a double-take.
“Why do you like wearing wigs?” the six-year-old asked her mom.
Union, 52, laughed and admitted the question “triggered” her before explaining that wigs allow her to express herself and embrace versatility.
“I like to switch up my look. Because sometimes I want to have short hair and sometimes, I want to have long hair, sometimes I want to have blonde hair. And with wigs, I can do all those different things and play all these different kinds of characters,” she said.
The “Bring It On” star then turned the question back to Kaavia, prompting a sweet exchange about hair and self-expression.
“So, I can have long hair,” Kaavia responded when asked why she likes wearing wigs.
“But you do have long hair,” Union said, to which Kaavia quickly replied, “But not poofy long hair.”
The “Being Mary Jane” actress smiled, listing off the different textures her daughter already has “poofy long hair, and silky straight long hair, and curly long hair” before gently adding, “You just like change, right?”
To that, Kaavia simply said, “Yes.”

Elsewhere in the interview, when Union-Wade was asked what advice she and her husband Dwyane Wade pass down to their kids about beauty, style, and self-expression, “The Perfect Find” star said they always encourage individuality.
“The advice that we give [Kaavia] is, ‘It’s whatever you want to do,” she shared.
She added: “When it comes to her hair, obviously I’m obsessed with it. There’s a lot of work and a small team that does her hair to make sure it’s healthy. But what she does with it, how she chooses to express herself, whether it’s makeup, or hair, or how she dresses, it’s completely up to her. It’s her body.”
“These are her choices. And as long as it’s safe and appropriate for the weather, then it’s really up to her. And you don’t have to follow anybody, it’s no one else’s choice but yours how you express yourself.”
