I have had quite a few questions about dandruff lately and while I like to recommend that you ensure that you keep the scalp clean and avoid excessive oils I always love when I find a little concoction that can help as well.
Babilon Kay is the queen of concoctions so finding something that deals directly with scalp issues such as dandruff or psoriasis on her channel was not much of a surprise. In the below video she uses a mixture of lemon powder and orange peel powder to create a paste that when applied to the scalp can act as a natural astringent as well as a growth aid.
What you will need
3 Tablespoons of orange peel powder
2 Tablespoons of Lemon powder
5 Tablespoons of hot water
Mix everything together until you get a pliable paste that you will apply to your scalp ensuring to get every area of your head.
Once complete, cover your head with a plastic cap and allow the mix to sit for at least 20 minutes. After 20 minutes wash your scalp clean using a sulfate free shampoo and condition and style your hair as usual.
Notes from the video:
Lemons contain anti-fungal properties that combat dandruff-causing fungus. Lemons have vitamin C and citric acid that fight against dandruff. It moisturizes the scalp and sheds away dead skin cells. The acidic property of lemons balances the scalp’s pH level.
It soothes irritation and reduces itching. It contains essential antioxidants and vitamins help to promote healthy scalp and hair.
Oranges contain Vitamin C, which aids in hair growth. Folic acid & vitamin B are great for healthy hair. Using orange peel helps combat dandruff.
Let me know if you plan to try it!
