If you are a Grace Jones Fan then news of this Biopic should be pretty exciting! It was recently released that Grace will be working with British film-maker Sophie Fiennes who will create a story around the personal and professional life of the icon and entertainer. The Biopic has been commissioned by BBC films so I am not quite sure if it will be mainstream for the American market.
According to the Jamaica Observer:
This is the first feature film on the personal and professional life of Grace Jones. Commissioned by BBC Films, the biopic is being described as an observational portrait that will mix personal footage with staged musical sequences, to create a detailed look at the life of the 68-year-old, who was born in Spanish Town and migrated to the United States at age 13.
British film-maker Sophie Fiennes, sister to actors Ralph and Joseph Fiennes, will serve as the director for the film which will be distributed throughout the UK in 2017 through Picturehouse Entertainment.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be working once more with Sophie and her team on another exciting doc after The Pervert’s Guide To Ideology,” Claire Binns, director of programming and acquisitions for Picturehouse Entertainment, said in a statement.
“Grace is one of my favourite recording artistes. her talent, mixed with Sophie’s film-making skill, and our expertise at delivering innovative music docs like 20,000 Days On Earth and Made Of Stone means we’re looking at a killer combo. Bring it on.”
Should be interesting!
