It’s officially that time of year again — the BET Awards are around the corner, and this year marks a major milestone. We’re celebrating 25 years of Black excellence, iconic performances, unforgettable fashion moments, and the culture being front and center, as it should be. And trust us, 2025 is shaping up to be one for the books.
Leading the charge this year is none other than Kevin Hart, who’s returning to host what he’s calling a “Black-Tie affair.”
With his signature mix of humor and heart, Kevin is promising a night full of powerful tributes, standout performances, and moments that’ll have everybody talking well past Monday morning.
And if Kevin’s involved, we already know it’s going to be equal parts heartfelt and hilarious.
The show is pulling out all the stops when it comes to performances. We’re talking Lil Wayne, Teyana Taylor, GloRilla, Playboi Carti, Ledisi, Leon Thomas, and Keyshia Cole — just to name a few. This lineup is giving range, Black girl magic, and a heavy dose of hip-hop nostalgia mixed with fresh energy.
Whether you’re here for the vocals, the vibes, or the viral-worthy stage moments, it’s safe to say BET is giving the people exactly what they want.
When it comes to awards, Kendrick Lamar is leading the nominations this year with an impressive 10 nods, which feels more like a victory lap than anything else.
Right behind him are heavyweights like Drake, Future, Doechii, and GloRilla — all holding their own with six nominations each.
The competition is tight, and fans are already debating who’s most deserving online.
One of the most anticipated parts of the night will be the Ultimate Icon Award presentation, honoring four legends whose impact can’t be overstated: Mariah Carey, Jamie Foxx, Kirk Franklin, and Snoop Dogg.
These are the artists who shaped generations, moved culture forward, and continue to inspire. To see them honored together on one stage? That’s a moment.
And if that wasn’t enough to pull on your nostalgia strings, 106 & Park is making a comeback — at least for the night.
The iconic show’s hosts — AJ & Free, Terrence J, Rocsi, Julissa Bermudez, Keshia Chanté — will reunite to honor the legacy of a show that raised a whole generation of Black millennials. We’re not crying, you’re crying.
The show airs Monday, June 9th, live from the Peacock Theater in L.A. The pre-show kicks off at 6 PM ET, with the main event starting at 8 PM. You already know we’ll be tuned in, live-tweeting, and breaking it all down — from red carpet slays to on-stage surprises.
So grab your snacks, pour up something, and prepare to witness another unforgettable night celebrating us.
Because when BET says it’s “Culture’s Biggest Night,” they mean it — and this year, it’s personal.
