Sources close to Jay-Z and Beyoncé have revealed that the power couple is extremely upset about the recent civil lawsuit accusing Jay-Z of sexual assault.
As EmilyCottontop previously reported, both Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs, 55, were named in a civil lawsuit filed on Sunday (December 8). The suit, brought forward by an anonymous woman referred to as Jane Doe, alleges that the music moguls sexually assaulted her at a VMAs after-party in New York back in 2000.
Both rappers have vehemently denied the disturbing allegations, with Jay-Z taking swift legal action to have the case dismissed.
“His name has been caught up in the Diddy drama since the beginning, so they knew something was going to happen,” a source shared with US Weekly. “They just didn’t know when. Jay-Z professed to Beyoncé that he’s innocent and believes this is nothing more than a money grab.”
A second source told the news outlet that the most-nominated artist in Grammy history is “putting on a brave face” for her kid’s sake even though she believes in her husband’s innocence.
“Beyoncé is moving forward with her life,” the insider said. “She is still committed to her scheduled halftime show performance at the Christmas Day NFL game, and she will be there for her family as much as she can.”
“She won’t let this bring her image down,” they added.
“Beyoncé does not believe a word of what they’re saying,” the source asserted, adding that the Cowboy Carter star and Jay-Z think the lawsuit is just an alleged extortion attempt.
Another source, however, revealed that the case has been weighing heavily on the couple and even straining their marriage.
“It has been causing a strain on their marriage since the tape surfaced of Diddy assaulting Cassie. They have had many discussions about how it would play out if Jay were to ever be convicted of anything surrounding Diddy.”
But Beyoncé reportedly believes that the best way to face it is head-on. She allegedly even “forced” Jay-Z to attend the Mufasa: The Lion King premiere in a bid to “do anything to keep their family together.”
“They are working with a crisis specialist who is advising them on how to handle this,” another source told Daily Mail.
They added, “Beyoncé believes that the best way is to face it head-on. Blue Ivy is well aware of what is going on and is intent on supporting her father in any way she can. She was there in solidarity with her dad and mom.

Although Jay-Z has not commented on the accusations against Diddy, he has vehemently denied the sexual assault allegations made against him
The claim, thoroughly detailed in a newly filed lawsuit, alleged that the ROC Nation founder and Diddy gang-raped the accuser at a VMAs after-party in New York when she was just 13 years old.
In response, Jay-Z released a statement accusing the alleged victim and her lawyer, Texas shark, Tony Buzbee of trying to “extort him” by forcing a settlement.
“My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee,” the Grammy-winning rapper wrote. “What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle.”
“No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!
Jay-Z went on to describe Buzbee as a “deplorable human” questioning his integrity as an attorney. He also expressed deep “heartbreak” for his family and shared concerns about having to sit down with his kids to explain the case to them.
“My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of the claims and explain the cruelty and greed of people,” he continued.
“I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit.”
Since 2023, more than two dozen individuals have stepped forward with serious allegations against Diddy, accusing him of sexual assault, rape, physical abuse, and leveraging his influence in the entertainment industry to drug and assault his victims.
If found guilty, the music mogul could face a prison sentence spanning 15 years to life. He is currently in custody, facing charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, conspiracy, and facilitating the transportation of individuals for prostitution.
