Popular TikTok influencer Golloria called out Hailey Bieber’s makeup brand, Rhode, of not being inclusive and it did not take long for Hailey Bieber to respond.
In the now-viral video, Golloria said the blushes from Rhode looked ‘ashy’ on her darker skin.
“I bought these three shades because I feel like these would be the three shades that would work on dark skin,” the influencer explained in an Aug. 5 clip as she showed off the beauty brand’s shades “Juice Box,” “Spicy Marg” and “Toasted Teddy.”
“I just feel like in 2024, if you’re gonna drop anything complexion, that it should be able to work for any skin tone and complexion,” she told her 2 million followers in the clip.
“Now, the ash was really serious,” she continued before concluding that Bieber’s line of blush “needs some work” to suit all skin tones.
@golloria a sinister ASH!
According to the Huff Post many of Golloria’s followers rallied behind her in the comments section.
“[It] actually seems super on brand for Rhode,” one person wrote of the skin care company, which launched in 2022.
Another argued, “Am I the only one who expects this from rhode?.”
“Did anyone ACTUALLY believe rhode was for us? bye ????,” someone else added.
Bieber apparently caught wind of the negative review.
Over the weekend, Golloria posted a new TikTok video featuring Rhode blushes — but this time, she seemed satisfied with how the products looked on her skin.
“This is why I complain,” Golloria said as she patted on the makeup. “This is why you advocate for yourself.”
“You see how beautifully flushed I am without looking ashy?” she continued. Golloria didn’t reveal which shades she’d tested in her follow-up review.
The beauty influencer also shared that Bieber had contacted her about Rhode’s blush blunder.
“Hailey, thank you for reaching out and listening to me and treating me like a human. This is redemption,” Golloria said.
She added in her caption, “Bravo. Your voice can elicit change. Wonderfully done, thank you for listening to Black women!”

Golloria’s followers assembled in her comments section to express their approval.
“And Hailey was quick with it too. I love it,” one person wrote.
Another commented, “This single-handedly made me a hailey/rhode fan!.”
“Dare I say this made me a Hailey fan?!! I love that she listened and improved,” someone else said.
