Ja Rule is ready to part ways with his music catalog.
But don’t expect him to do it without a bit of charm and finesse.
The 47-year-old rapper recently revealed what it would take for him to hand over his treasure trove of tunes to the highest bidder.
Ja Rule Realized How Lucrative His Catalog Is

In an interview with Blomberg Business, the rapper revealed that he came to understand his collection’s value.
Ja Rule hinted at the conditions he would impose when he finally makes his ultimate money move.
“I’ve really been talking about doing a reversion deal where I would probably give up half my catalog and it would revert back to my family. I think it’s kinda hard to put a number on the value. Usually, the value of the music starts to go down as the artist starts to go away. The value of the music starts to depreciate.”
The rapper isn’t the first one to consider selling his catalog.
Other artists who cashed out include:
- Justin Timberlake
- John Legend
- Chuck D
- Iggy Azalea
- Future
- Mannie Fresh
Let’s not forget the impressive stats that make Ja Rule’s catalog shine bright:
- Three Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits
- Eight top 10 songs
- 17 chart-toppers
- Two No. 1 albums
- Six LPs in the top 10
Love him or hate him, this rapper knows how to make hits.
Whether Ja Rule cashes in his catalog or not, one thing’s for sure—he has the hits, the charisma, and the business smarts to make any deal work.
