I am a little bit more than biased when it comes to my Jamaican blogger colleagues for many reasons. For one, they inspire me because they bring a little piece of the island to the world in ways we have never been able to before. Secondly, sometimes when you miss being home you can just get a peice of the place you love so much by just checking on Instagram.
Natasha caught my eye because of her perfect ringlets but when she said she was a “child of the sea” I just knew we were sisters just with different parents.
Natasha is a fashion blogger based in beautiful Montego Bay Jamaica and her blog Stylish Leebrings fashion, natural hair and everything Jamaican right to your laptop or smart device.
Let’s talk about the hair for a second because I often wonder if I were to move back to the island for any reason, how my natural hair would handle the environment.
One thing is for sure, my love for free-spirited natural hair would fit right in because if you think your twist out or flat iron can stand up to the Jamaican humidity you have another thing coming.
Natasha is the epitome of the freedom fro with the wash and go being her signature style. If you want to know how she does her dope wash and go click here.
Child of the sea indeed:
If I were to take anything from Natasha’s regimen that I think is super important to share it would be that you should not be afraid to get a trim.
The truth is if your hair and ends are not damaged then you really do not need to pick up the scissors but the moment you notice that your curls no longer clump as they should or that you have excessive tangling it is time to get a trim. Trimming your curly hair gives it shape and makes your curls pop! Check out Stylish Lee on her website here.
