On Friday, July 19, Jayda Cheaves shared an Instagram video to promote her new Malibu capsule collection from her Waydamin clothing brand.
The short ad features Jayda strolling along the beach before finding a spot to relax and sunbathe. She removes her white bikini top and dozes off on the sand.
While she enjoys some downtime, her 5-year-old son, Loyal, and his friend mischievously grab her top and toss it into the ocean. When Jayda wakes up and notices her top is missing, she takes it in stride and decides to take a swim without it.
When she shared the video, social media users were quick to react!
“Not butt naked with the kids ????.”
In the caption for the video Jayda said:

But folks in her comments did not see the vision:
To see yo mama naked is 1 thing. It happens. But the fact that you made a whole plot and video that included kids gives weird and cringe . It’s like you feen for attention ???? I don’t think nothing is wrong with Loyal being in the video because we done seen movies like this where the kids invading grown ups privacy … it’s just the fact it’s suppose to be about marketing the bathing suit and we don’t see the marketing of the bathing suit
This is why having a legit team is imperative. You don’t have to be a genius to know that this would be received poorly, cause why are you naked and your son is in this video? Like what made you think this would be okay? And what kind of message is it sending to young boys that stealing a woman’s top is okay? Like girl what? ????????????

On Twitter Yella Breezy made the point that her actions can be considered normal.
“…& I ain’t tryna sound weird but y’all mama didn’t walk around y’all naked as a child? Maybe it’s the scenery of it being at a beach but I think half the women with kids have or had walk around them nude. Maybe a blk household thing?”
Jayda responded to the whole thing making it clear that she was ‘on set’ with an entire production team.
“This was a set with a real production team. I know it’s hard to understand because I did use myself, & my child (who’s an aspiring actor) along with another casted actor. But plz keep in mind WE were all ACTING & trying to visualize the concept to create this short film, hence to why i got up made sure nobody was around and then proceeded to embrace that I was topless.. without any knowledge of WHO TOOK MY @waydaminbrand BIKINI TOP BECAUSE I WAS ALSEEP when it happened in the film.”
