During the interview, Joe Budden revealed his thoughts that he started the disses against Drake.
“It may sound narcissistic, but I don’t think any one man takes down Drake. I think I passed the baton to Push, I think Push passed the baton to Kendrick, and the job is done now.”
He added:
“That’s how I feel in my head and my heart.”
Budden referred to his beef with Drake, which started in 2016.
Budden criticized the Canadian rapper’s Views album, leading Drake to take shots at him in “4PM in Calabasas.”
Joe Budden responded with “Afraid” and “Making a Murderer Pt. 1.”
In the meantime, there was also growing tension between Drake and Pusha T.
In 2018, Pusha T dropped “The Story of Adidon” diss track, revealing that the Canadian rapper had secretly fathered a son, Adonis.
Budden didn’t mention Megan Thee Stallion, whose hit “Hiss” could be referring to Drake as “cosplay gangsters” with “fake-ass accents.”
The female rapper also dropped a bar about BBLs:
“These n***as hate on BBLs and be walkin’ ’round with the same scars.”
Many Stallion fans credit her for starting the Drake takedown.
