Bill has entered the chat! According WBLS and multiple new reports Bill Cosby may be heading back to court.
A judge has granted the 10 women who filed a civil sexual assault lawsuit against him to move forward.
The decision was made after Nevada passed the “Justice for Victims of Crime Bill (SB129).
The bill removes the statute of limitations for adults who have survived sexual assault.
The lawsuit claims that Cosby “lured them into an isolated environment, drugged, or attempted to drug them, and then sexually assaulted them.” The actor has filed to have the lawsuit dismissed. U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro agreed with Cosby’s argument that sexual assault is a crime and not a civil matter.
Cosby also argued that one of the woman’s claims did not equate to sexual assault, but the judge corrected it and said that sexual assault does include, “a person forcing another person to masturbate him with her hand against her will.”
Judge Navarro also shut down Cosby’s other claims about the law and sexual assault.
“Although victims of other crimes classified by the defendant may suffer similar trauma and be reluctant to report, the defendant has not shown how these other crimes are of the ‘uniquely intimate’ nature such that their victims stand on precisely the same ground as sexual assault victims.”
Bill Cosby is also facing other new claims in New York under the state’s Adult Survivors Act.
