In a year filled with tumultuous splits and unexpected breakups (still not over DDG and Halle), it seems like Judge Mathis is determined to keep his marriage intact and home happy.
Speaking to TMZ Thursday (October 10th), Judge Mathis hinted at a potential reunion with his wife, Linda Reese, who filed for divorce on August 22, citing irreconcilable differences, revealing that things are so much better now and that he and Linda will be “reconciled shortly.”
The TV judge admitted he’s been working hard to repair his relationship with Linda, prioritizing staying home after previously not making her a focus in his life.
“We’re doing well, we’ll be reconciled shortly,” he shared.
“It’s more than a chance [they’ll reconcile]. It’ll take a few more months for me to stay home. I haven’t left home since the time I got in trouble with her in terms of not being home. I haven’t left home, I put off all my speaking engagements around the country. So, I’m home with my wife and we’re doing fine. And I’m enjoying it—and she is, too!”

Judge Mathis has made significant progress since Linda filed for divorce. Back then, he vowed not to give up on nearly four decades of marriage without a fight. Reflecting on that time, he said:
“Not holding up very well. I will say that other men, maybe I’ll be an example for other men, cautionary tale. Don’t neglect your wife. Never be busy, never have too much fun beyond your wife.
He added: “We’re still in the same house and we’re maintaining a friendship, and I’m trying to get my wife back. I have to show her that, though. Hopefully, I can show her while we’re there together. And hopefully, she doesn’t complete the process, but I’m changing hoping she will.”
Judge Mathis also squashed any infidelity rumors, explaining that their split was purely due to his absence from home.
He admitted that with all his travel, he understood why Linda might have questioned his faithfulness…which is why he’s purposing to stay under the same roof as Linda now.
