Chile! Kandi Burruss is dishing on her past relationship with Jermaine Dupri finally admitting to it after years of speculation.
Apparently the “Xscape” singer and the founder of So So Def were romantically involved, causing significant tension within the group and now Kandi is explaining how details about that relationship ‘got out’.
In a new episode of TV One’s Uncensored, Kandi revealed that told her bandmates, Tameka “Tiny” Harris and Tamika Scott, about her relationship with Dupri claiming that it started around the time the “Off The Wall” album was released.
The group was filming for “Who Can I Run To” and “Do You Want To” with Dupri on set but the two love birds kept their romance a secret.
Kandi said:
“We was like totally just cool friends,” ….“You couldn’t tell anything by sitting in a room with us. … It wasn’t a public relationship. It was very much so private.”
“Tiny and Tamika Scott, we used to share a lot of secrets with each other. The three of us,” …..“They knew from the beginning. They always knew. Tamika did not tell her sister, but she knew.”
Kandi then explained how the information about her relationship with Jermaine was exposed. She said she had a diary that was stolen where she detailed not only her secret but Tiny’s as well.
Additionally she suspected that Tocha stole it.
“Now I can’t say that Tocha herself stole my diary, but somebody that was close to her definitely got a hold to it,” …..“I used to journal every day. The people that I was close, Tamika and Tiny, they had no reason to take the diary because they already knew.”
Once Kandi noticed her diary was gone she said an argument broke out between the Xscape members.
LaTocha mentioned Kandi and Tiny’s secret relationship which is why she thought LaTocha had something to do with the missing diary.
“I’m livid,” ….“But I can’t prove who took the diary. I had an idea. I felt like I knew who took it but I couldn’t prove it, so I couldn’t do anything about it.”
“We in this little argument (as we always do in our little group arguments), and, uh, Tocha said something about or hinting towards the thing with Jermaine and I’m like ‘OK,’ but then later in the conversation she said something about Tiny. She knew it all of a sudden. Right after my diary stolen. It ain’t a damn coincidence. You could put two and two together. Even Tiny was like, ‘Oh, that’s some bullsh*t.”
