In late 2022, Adidas split publicly with Yeezy owner Kanye West over his antisemitic opinions.
It seemed like the two would never work together again.
However, never say never.
Adidas Dropped Kanye Like He Was Hot
Kanye had an eventful 2022:
- He finalized his divorce from Kim Kardashian
- Instagram suspended him for harassing his ex, DL Hughley, Trevor Noah, and Pete Davidson
- His harassment of Pete Davidson was so intense that the actor went to trauma therapy
- He bought a home opposite Kim Kardashian’s house
- He started dating actress Julia Fox
- He asked Donald Trump to be his Vice President
- He made antisemitic comments and stood by them
- Adidas terminated its contract with Kanye
Kanye had more controversy in one year than many celebrities have in their lifetime.
His association with Adidas also hurt their image, so they had to drop him.
However, they might have acted too soon.
Is Kanye West Too Valuable To Drop?

According to HotNewHipHop, Adidas and Kanye West are teaming up again.
But why would Adidas take back Kanye after all the drama?
Naturally, it’s all about money.
According to the Washington Post, Yeezys earn Adidas around $2 billion annually–close to 10% of its annual revenue.
However, after cutting ties with Kanye West, the company remained with unsold Yeezys worth $520 million.
Although Adidas can still sell shoes with Yeezy designs, these $520 million worth of products had Kanye’s insignia.
The shoe brand was stuck with the Yeezys and is projected to lose over $1 billion this year.
Naturally, Adidas has searched for ways to recoup its money, and the rumor mill has led to some interesting suggestions.
HotNewHipHop revealed a series of tweets implying that Kanye West and Adidas were working together again.

If true, the deal could be temporary–until Adidas sells off the remaining stock.
However, if the public opinion of Kanye West improves, they might consider making the deal long-term.
