Kathy Davies does not mess around.
The entrepreneur owns a Mayweather Boxing + Fitness franchise in Brentwood, Tennessee.
This is a high-intensity fitness center from legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather.
Davies opened the fitness center in 2019, just before the Covid-19 pandemic hit.
However, her location survived the worst of the pandemic.
Kathy Davies Was Always A Fitness Enthusiast
Since childhood, Davis has participated in various physical activities and sports.
Professionally, Davis landed a job as a group fitness instructor.
Next, she ran a personal training business for almost twenty years.
During this time, Davis tried a range of activities like triathlons, marathons, spin classes, and bodybuilding.
However, boxing was her favorite.
Sometime later, when hanging out with friends on social media, Davis saw an ad for the Mayweather Boxing + Fitness franchise.
Since Mayweather is a household name and because Davis loves boxing, she decided this was a fantastic opportunity to open a franchise.
Opening The Fitness Center
Kathy Davies opened the fitness center in 2019.
However, the pandemic hit just four months after the opening date.
Because everyone’s movement was limited—and gyms couldn’t operate to limit the spread of the virus—Davies’ fitness center faced unforeseen challenges.
However, the boxing enthusiast didn’t let this issue get her down.
She started giving free virtual workouts to all the gym-goers stuck at home.
Davies wasn’t making money from the classes, but she offered them to keep people healthy and safe.
Another benefit of offering free classes was that it kept the interest in her gym alive until things settled down and she could reopen.
Davies also welcomed feedback on what she could do to improve the fitness center.
They eventually made changes that improved the experience.
Overall, Kathy Davies finds her entrepreneurial journey exciting.
She understands trial and error are part of the game and has the experience to be patient and versatile.
