Keke is once again addressing money inequality in relationships, and like other times, the internet is divided on her perspective.
In a new podcast the actress said that due to gender rules people give women a hard time when they choose a mate that makes less.
And on the flip side, people do not care when ‘a man finds their woman under a bridge”.
Using Oprah’s long time partner as an example, she said she hates that people criticized Oprah for her relationship with Stedman and by extension what he had to ‘endure’ being attached to a ‘powerful woman”.
“I’m supposed to find love but he’s gotta have a certain amount of money… Nobody cares when a man finds his woman under a bridge,” she said.
People were quick to remind Keke that Stedman was not broke.
Stedman was the CEO of a Fortune 500 company lol. Hes not poor or below her. She’s just astronomically rich.
Keke doubled down making the point that Stedman wasn’t “good enough” in the public’s eyes.
“The greatest man isn’t good enough for the greatest woman.”

Keke has said in past conversations that dating a man who earns less than her isn’t a problem. She’s made it clear: for her, money isn’t a flex it’s a tool, and she’s not intimidated by earning more .
She applies the same financial logic to her household. When asked about her monthly expenses like rent and car payments, she explained she keeps things modest and strategic $1,500 rent, $340 car installment so she can funnel cash into real wealth building: real estate, business investments, legacy projects
With that said for Keke, money in relationships isn’t about competition it’s about partnership.
she said:
People should be allowed to exist in life free from comparisons. Just because someone isn’t a millionaire doesn’t mean their BROKE. And just cause somebody has money doesn’t mean their kind, vise versa, do what works for you. This economy is crazy everybody working gig to gig. Long as you handling your business you alright with me.
The comments on the video did not hold back though.
One person said:
just because you settling please I love you Keke girl but you sounding real PICK ME BULIDABARBRA rn please stop promoting bad advice
and another said:
Facts but broke men will resent you and treat you bad for being a higher earner everytime… at least women are capable of being appreciative
and
If a man gone embarrass me and leave me with a child to raise on my hip in show biz.. please believe he won’t make less than me.. ain’t no way baby. At least get the money and lifestyle too
However not everyone disagrees:
someone says:
I agree with her. My dad was still in surgery residency when he married my mom – she was already 7 years into her career as a corporate attorney at a top Manhattan firm. He was earning next to nothing at the time, but they truly loved each other. Now, decades later, she retired by choice, and he’s carried the family with strength and grace for over 20 years as an Attending Spine Surgeon. Every situation is different, but forward-thinking and patience absolutely have value especially when rooted in mutual respect and purpose.
