What Happens In The New Flick From Kerry Washington And Tyler Perry?
The teaser kicks off with Washington’s character, Major Charity Adams, commanding her soldiers offscreen:
“Soldiers, you must be perfect… You do not have the luxury to be good. You have the burden to be better.”
We cut to different action-packed scenes of the war as she continues:
“Look alive, ladies! I need women who had to fight to survive… I am giving you my best and you will give me yours. A lot of people do not want us to succeed. We have the most to prove. Welcome to the Women’s Army Corps.”
The Six Triple Eight is based on Kevin M. Hymel’s article, “Fighting A Two-Front War.”
According to the synopsis:
“Despite facing racism and sexism – and grueling working conditions – they were committed to serving their country with honor and distinction. Given an extraordinary mission and united in their determination, these unsung heroes delivered hope and shattered barriers.”
This movie is Tyler Perry’s latest as part of his multi-million deal with Netflix.
The steamy Mea Culpa–starring Kelly Rowland–dropped early this year.
Perry is also working on a TV drama titled Beauty In Black.
The Six Triple Eight will drop on December 20 on Netflix.
