Khelani is shutting down disturbing rumors that she considers her daughter her “wife in a previous life.”
The speculations started after legal documents from her ex, internet personality Javaughn Young-White (Jaboukie Young-White’s younger brother), circulated on social media on Wednesday (November 13).
In the court documents, Javaughn states that the “After Hours” singer “claims to see spirits and believes our daughter’s spirit was one of her wives in a past life.”
The filing also includes a screenshot of a text message between the parents, in which the internet personality asks, “What area of the world did this past life person say Adeya [their five-year-old daughter] is from?” and Khelani responds, “south amurrrica she was my wife once lol.”
After what seemed like an uproar over the allegations online, Khelani took to Instagram to set the record straight with receipts countering the “doctored” texts shared by Javaughn to make her look bad.”
“As a person that has always gotten little readings here and there, I was connected to an older woman for a ‘past life’ reading,” the 2025 Grammy nominee explained.
“I shared what I considered a lighthearted recap with my child’s father, laughing at it and considering it something light and not to be taken serious.”
“To have those screenshots then doctored, the rest of messages left out, to make me seem like i consider myself to be in an inappropriate relationship with my DAUGHTER.. is the most heartbreak thing i’ve ever f**king heard.”
Kehlani continued, “I’ve been silent, I’ve taken the public beating, I’ve been addressing all of this where I should—in COURT. I’ve sat there and watched the public only have access to ONE SIDE of things. But this is where I absolutely draw the line.”
“I do NOT, and have NEVER considered myself in any sort of inappropriate relationship with my child,” she concluded, adding that the rest of these “absolutely monstrous allegations” will be handled in court.

Khelani’s vexation trickled to her Instagram Story where the “Nunya” singer confessed to feeling “exhausted” and “drained” by the ongoing drama.
“I’m supposed to be celebrating grammy nominations with my now grammy nominated child. and yet, here we are. leave my daughter out of your mouthes. you know NOTHING,” she said.
Kehlani and Javaughn’s custody battle has been anything but amicable since the internet personality filed a paternity petition in August.
Back in August, after Khelani filed for a temporary restraining order against him, alleging abuse and claiming his home was unsafe for their daughter, Javaughn took to social media with accusations against Kehlani. He alleged she fabricated assault claims whenever a relationship ended.
“When she cheated on her last girlfriend Kiara, she alleged the person she was cheating with raped her,” he posted. “Kiara later found out that wasn’t true. She alleges rape and abuse when she has nothing else to cling to.”
Javaughn also claimed Kehlani was involved in a cult, which she addressed publicly, stating:
“I strongly deny any claims that I have put my child in harm’s way, or left my child alone with anyone deemed dangerous or unsafe.
Kehlani further clarified, “I also do not align with any of the allegations made against my former religious community that have been stated in the media.”
