Laura Govan recently opened up about an alleged brawl with fellow Basketball Wives alum Draya Michele.
During a sit-down with Carlos King on Tuesday (October 29), the reality TV star recalled a story her ex-husband, Gilbert Arenas, shared with her during a brief breakup.
Arenas admitted that a woman from Philadelphia had performed a sex act on him in the back of a car—a tale he went on to discuss with fellow athlete Nick Young, who was driving the said vehicle. driving the
Though Govan knew about the incident, she alleged that she had “no idea” that Michele was the woman involved, which is why she took issue with the fashion designer trying to make friends with her while knowing she hooked up with her ex-husband.
“When I found out, it was because I was going through some papers at the house, and I saw that he had given her $25,000 and brought her to LA,” Govan recounted.
Realizing Michele had been paid and flown out by her ex, made Govan reach her breaking point.
“I remember finding the paper, I remember calling my friend and telling her to pick up the kids for me…and I remember going to where she was filming in Hollywood,” she explained.
“I was not supposed to be filming, and I walked past everybody, and I beat the f**k out of her.”
Although the network chose not to air that episode, Govan claims the fight was intense.
“And it did not air. They did not want that to air….I picked her up by her pu**y and collarbone and threw her, and then I spit on her, and I was trying to get to her even after that.”
Reflecting on the incident, Govan admitted, “Am I proud of those things? Absolutely not. But, what you’re not going to do is be my friend, don’t be in my face! And from what I heard, you was suckin’ and f**kin’ him at the time!”

Well, Draya Michele caught wind of Laura Govan’s recent remarks and took to Instagram to set the record straight.
“I don’t bother nobody. Why does nobody bother me?” Draya wrote, addressing the situation.
She went on to say that she typically doesn’t feel the need to clear things up but is tired of being “cyberbullied” and “podcast-bullied” for over a year now.
“First, I’m not the type of person to clear sh*t up, but enough is enough. I’ve been cyberbullied and podcast-bullied for almost 12 months straight by both men and women. And have stayed quiet. I don’t care about likes, comments, or going viral. But if I’m going to trend, I’m going to trend today and all f***ing day,” the swimsuit designer continued.
Michele clarified that she “didn’t mess with anyone’s husband”, and the interactions she had with Gilbert Arenas occurred years before her time on Basketball Wives.
“I did not know her then. And l also did not know her when I agreed to be on the show,” she explained, addressing claims of friendship.
Her original role, she shared, was to pretend to be friends with Gloria, not realizing she was Laura’s sister.

Michele also reflected on her time on the show, pointing out the popularity her storyline brought.
“Many of y’all won’t admit it, but I’ve brought comedic relief, a breath of fresh air, and most importantly, relatability to the normal girl who watched the show,” she continued.
“All of my dirty laundry was aired on the show. And when I say all, I mean all. I have been called some of the worst things on national TV. I’m almost at the end. But, I will say my storyline carried the show. Carried. Carried. Carried. Had there been something involving me, trust and believe it would have been put out there (aired) for further enjoyment of people that watch trash TV.”
Michele ended by sharing that she rarely speaks out because she respects other perspectives in situations and prefers to handle things privately.
“I don’t get on this Internet and hash anybody. I certainly don’t blame the woman in any situation where I am owed some sort of respect from my man.”
“I don’t get on this Internet and tell my side of the story often because I respect the fact that it’s not only my side. I give a lot of people grace by being quiet and not sharing. Timelines aren’t timelining. And I’m sorry to people that can’t understand that.”
She closed on a powerful note.
“I hope you read this in a tone that is of a strong woman once again coming to the Internet, defending herself. And not a victim. I’m never a victim. l am a victor.”
“Now, if you will excuse me. I will get back to my very normal, non-reality-TV-related, multifaceted life. Thank you. Go vote. For Kamala [Harris].”
