Have you watched “Divorce in Black”?
Well if you did and you liked it, the good folks over at Rotten Tomatoes disagree with you.
Rotten Tomatoes and the Tomatometer score are the world’s most trusted recommendation resources for quality entertainment and they gave Tyler’s new movie a whopping 0%.
The movie has 10 professional reviews submitted so far and all of the critics seemingly think that the Prime movie is a complete disaster.
The audience score however was more favorable with a 53% score.
Loni Love caught wind of the score and suggested on Twitter that Tyler Perry should not only invest in black actors like he is doing but he should pay black writers and directors as well.
She wrote:
I love that Tyler is paying Black actors now I wish he would hire Black writers and directors that have experience to help him with his movies… He could improve the movies & make them award worthy if he would stop trying to save money by doing the writing and directing himself.
She was not alone in her opinion.
another Twitter user wrote:
He definitely needs help. These movies belong on Tubi. With all the studios he built there is no reason Black Fantasy movies…Black Thrillers…Espionage etc arent a part of his catalogue. Tyler deserves all the praise but he needs to be stopped and arrested in the name of Jesus. Respectfully.
There are Black Authors out there with stories with some depth that should be brought to life.
But there are many that disagreed with Loni, some thinking he should continue to do exactly what he has been doing.
Black folks spare no expense when it comes to audacity ???? that man don’t have to do a damn thing! It’s the entitlement for me

and
That is exactly the point…he does not have to do anything besides what he is doing currently…His movies reflect exactly that. Black folks made him rich going to all his shows amd movies, and now we are still stuck where we started with better wigs and better cameras????????♂️

Do you agree with Loni? Are the writers and directors an issue or does it even matter what Rotten Tomatoes says?
