Martin Lawrence is setting the record straight after rumors about his health surfaced earlier this year.
During his Friday (August 30) performance at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit as part of his Y’all Know What It Is! Tour, the Bad Boys For Life star, kicked off his set by humorously addressing the stroke allegations.
“Motherf—kers talking about me and s—t. Talking about I done had a stroke and s—t. Does this look like a motherfucker that had a stroke?” Lawrence told the crowd before playfully hopping across the stage to prove them wrong.
“That look like a motherfucker that had a stroke? I be strokin’. That’s what I be doing,” he quipped, referencing the Clarence Carter classic.
“Then they talking about I’m talking slow and lethargic and all that,” Lawrence continued, “I’m probably high.”

This isn’t the first time Lawrence has had to dispel such rumors. During the theatrical rollout of Bad Boys: Ride or Die, the comedian appeared on Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning:
“I’m fine. I’m in God’s hands. I’m blessed, you know. I’m all good. No need for people to be concerned,” Lawrence said at the time.
“I’m glad to be waking up every day and everything,” he continued. “I’m all good. No need for people to be concerned. I’m healthy as hell. Stop the rumors!”
