Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy are soon-to-be-in-laws!
Murphy’s eldest son, Eric Murphy, and Lawrence’s eldest daughter, Jasmin Lawrence, announced their engagement on Saturday (November 30th) through a heartwarming video shared on Instagram.
“11.27.2024 We’re engaged!!” they captioned the clip.
“God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter. Special thank you to everyone who made this moment so beautiful!!”
In the video, Eric leads Jasmin into a room decorated with flickering candles, lush rose bouquets, and a floor covered in white rose petals.
As they reach the center of the room, in front of a red heart, Eric, 35, drops to one knee to pop the question.
“It’s beautiful. Oh my gosh,” an emotional Jasmin, 28, says before enthusiastically saying “yes” and sharing a kiss with her new fiancé.

According to People, Jasmin and Eric entered into an official relationship on Instagram in June 2021.
At the time, Eric posted photos of himself and his beau alongside the caption, “Head over heels in LOVE with YOU.” He added the hashtags “MyOtherHalf,” “#EquallyYoked,” and “#ILoveYou.”
Then, in an interview with InTouch Weekly in January 2022, Jasmin—who followed in her dad’s footsteps by pursuing her acting career—opened up about how she and Eric met.
“It wasn’t even our dads, and they’ve done two movies together. They’re friends,” she said, adding that it was actually her uncle who brought her and Eric together.
“We met through my uncle and became really good friends. We bonded [over] a lot of things. Obviously, we have similar backgrounds, so we understood each other on a certain level, and over time it just became more.”
Eddie Murphy, 63, also addressed the pair’s romance during an appearance on the Today Show in November 2023.
“Jasmin’s always at the house with Eric,” the comedy genius said at the time. “I think they’ll go to Martin’s, and then they’ll come to me, then Martin.”
Martin Lawrence, 59, also discussed Jasmin and Eric’s relationship in an interview with E! News, joking that the couple could potentially conceive a “comedy super-baby” together.
“It’s beautiful,” he told the outlet. “They both are beautiful young adults, and they get along so well. Whoever would’ve thought that my child and Eddie’s child would get together? It’s just what it is.”
In that same interview, Lawrence added that Murphy did give him one note on their children’s relationship, specifically, their future wedding.
“Eddie said I had to pay for it,” the Bad Boys star said.
