Megan Thee Stallion is setting the record straight regarding a statement she made during her April 2022 CBS Mornings interview with Gayle King.
In her newly-released Amazon Prime documentary Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, the Grammy winner admitted to not being exactly truthful to King when asked about her intimate relationship with Tory Lanez.
At the time, Megan vehemently denied ever having any sexual relations with the Canadian singer but the new documentary finds her confessing that they were, in fact, intimate “once, maybe twice.”
“Yes, bi**h. I lied to Gayle King, b***h,” Megan said within the doc. “First of all, I ain’t know that b***h was even finna ask me about that s–t. I thought we was gonna talk about this shooting.”
Like, “Why is you asking me about f–king Tory?” she c” she continued. “That’s not what this is about. Even if I was … I f–ked that n–a like once, maybe twice on a drunk night. You kept catching me out of my f–king mind.”

She admitted to this at trial. Why out of all the things she talked about, mental health, how her mother was her biggest support, & losing her best friend, BEING SHOT & her intimate business is what y’all focus on. Like yall, some losers. #InHerWords #MeganTheeStallion pic.twitter.com/fpGp71GPQS

Just because Megan lied in that interview with Gayle King about sleeping with that man. Does not negate the fact that she was assaulted. That just proves that this case was a intimate partner violence type of situation. Y’all pick and choose. #inherwords #Megantheestallion

The Houston native also admitted to having an intimate relationship with Lanez during the shooting trial, expressing to the jury her feelings of “embarrassment” for having been involved with someone who could potentially harm her.
“I’m embarrassed because I’m a grown woman hanging with people I have no business hanging out with,” she said at the time. “Now look at how everybody want to view me…. How could I share my body with someone who would shoot me… Now every week there’s an article calling me a ‘hoe.’”
Lanez argued that their intimate relationship was a key factor in the events leading up to the night of the shooting, asserting that Megan and her former friend Kelsey Harris grew upset upon discovering he had been romantically involved with both of them.
Ultimately, Lanez was charged, convicted, and sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. He is currently serving time in North Kern State Prison, per prison records.
