Fiona Compton is a photographer, mom, Fashion Artist and as she says an ARTivist from St. Lucia based in London. I had to do a post about her when I saw her create a piece live on Instagram.
Let me show you what I mean:
Talented right? She launched her company in 2013 and worked as a photographer in London but remained true to her love of painting.
From her website:
Paradise Prints was officially launched in 2013 by photographer and artist – Fiona Compton. Working as a professional photographer in London for over a decade, Fiona never strayed far from her love of color and of painting.
Lovingly hand painting simple pieces from scratch, Paradise Prints has started from a few Facebook posts to being part of Fashion shows in London, Nevis and St.Lucia – including closing alongside some of the greatest Fashion Designers in the Caribbean. Paradise prints have been featured in several publications and on television including the Voice UK, She Caribbean Magazine, and Top Chef USA.
The progress of Paradise Prints has led Fiona to win an award for business in 2014 by the St.Lucia Government. Paradise Prints goal is to add more color to the world, to make whoever wears a piece, to whoever sees a piece feel good, feel happy, feel alive. No two pieces are the same as each piece is painted entirely by hand. So feel vibrant – feel COLOUR !
I love her work so much because all of her pieces as mentioned are full of color, so vibrant and such a great representation of the Caribbean. Not to mention handmade!
